cVeda
The Consortium on Vulnerability to Externalizing Disorders and Addictions (cVeda) is a major UK-India collaboration between King's College London and the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) in Bangalore, funded by the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) and the MRC Newton Grant.
Study Scale
The study recruited over 10,000 participants aged 6-23 years across 6 recruitment centres spanning urban and rural India, investigating environmental and genetic risk factors for substance misuse and externalising disorders. A subset of 1,000 participants underwent detailed neuroimaging, genetic and epigenetic analyses.
Challenging Environments
Data collection took place in diverse and often remote locations across India, requiring robust offline capabilities and reliable synchronisation when connectivity became available.
Delosis Contribution
Psytools ran the entire questionnaire and cognitive task battery for the large-scale remote data collection, as well as additional assessments for participants attending neuroimaging sessions. The platform's offline-first architecture was essential for reliable data collection in areas with limited or intermittent connectivity.
