Children of the 2020s
Children of the 2020s is a major national research study commissioned and funded by the Department for Education (DfE). Led by University College London (UCL), with data collection by Ipsos, the study follows 8,500 children and their families in England over their first five years, examining how experiences and circumstances affect development during a time of significant change.
Cognitive Assessment
Psytools is used to run a battery of three cognitive tasks with children on the touchscreen assessment devices used by Ipsos field workers to conduct interviews during home visits. The assessments are integrated seamlessly into the interview process, allowing field workers to collect cognitive data alongside parental questionnaires.
Key Features
- Offline working capability, essential for field work in diverse locations
- Simple automatic data return when connectivity is available
- Touchscreen-optimised tasks suitable for young children
- Reliable data collection across thousands of home visits
Delosis Contribution
Psytools provides the cognitive assessment platform that enables field workers to collect standardised cognitive data during home visits. The offline capability and automatic data synchronisation ensure reliable data collection even in areas with limited connectivity, while the touchscreen interface makes assessments accessible for young children.
